TiZrNb Alloy Thin Films for Improved Corrosion Resistance under O-Doping
摘要
This investigation focuses on the improvement of the corrosion resistance of TiZrNb thin films by controlled oxygen doping. The effects of doping process were evaluated by various characterization methods. The optimised oxygen-doped TiZrNb films showed a significant reduction in corrosion current density to a minimum of 0.22 μA cm-2, together with a substantial increase in polarisation resistance to a peak value of 195.7 kΩ cm2 in a 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. The effectiveness of oxygen doping as a strategy for improving the corrosion resistance of these versatile alloys, which can be used in aerospace, biomedical and related applications, has been confirmed.
