<p>The absorption properties of carbonyl iron/Co (CIP/Co) composites, with and without oxidation treatment, were investigated in corrosive environments. The microstructure of the CIP/Co composites was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The polarization resistance (<i>R</i><sub>p</sub>), corrosion potential (<i>E</i><sub>corr</sub>), and corrosion current (<i>i</i><sub>corr</sub>) of the composites were measured on an electrochemical workstation. It was observed that the composites subjected to oxidation treatment (H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-CIP/Co composites) exhibited improved absorption and corrosion resistance. This study thus offers an easy and efficient method to improve the corrosion resistance of microwave-absorbing materials.</p>

The absorption properties of carbonyl iron/Co (CIP/Co) composites, with and without oxidation treatment, were investigated in corrosive environments.
