摘要

Rhenium diselenide (ReSe2) is an anisotropic two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC). It is remarkable because its distorted octahedral crystal structure distinguishes it from the commonly known TMDCs (such as MoS2 and WSe2). The structural and vibrational anisotropy resulting from the distorted octahedral crystal structure confers layer-independent electrical and optical properties. In this review, the properties of 2D low-symmetry ReSe2 structures, their synthesis methods, current device applications, and future applications are discussed.
