摘要

A systematic experimental investigation on nitrogen solubility in Ni(l) was conducted over 0 to 20 atm N2 and 1500 °C to 1750 °C using a precisely temperature-controlled (± 0.5 °C) induction furnace. Sieverts’ law is validated for nitrogen solubility in Ni(l) at pressures up to 20 atm, and highly self-consistent standard Gibbs energy \({\Delta G}_{T}^{^\circ }=42912+32.404T\) Δ G T = 42912 + 32.404 T J/mol and Henrian activity coefficient \(\text{ln}{\gamma }_{\text{N in Ni}(\text{l})}^{^\circ }=\frac{3641}{T}+1.545\) ln γ N in Ni ( l ) = 3641 T + 1.545 for N2 dissolution in Ni(l) were derived, reconciling scattered literature data. This fundamental dataset provides a solid thermodynamic basis for elucidating nitrogen behavior in Ni-based alloys.
