Hybrid Precipitate Formation and Strengthening Behavior in a Severely Pre-deformed Al–Mg–Si–Cu Alloy
摘要
The effect of pre-deformation on the precipitation behavior of an Al–Mg–Si alloy with high Cu content was investigated using scanning transmission electron microscopy and tensile test. In the undeformed sample, the microstructure mainly consists of GPB zones and L phase. In contrast, the deformed sample exhibits a dislocation-promoted hybrid precipitation structure. The dislocation provides nucleation sites and enhances solute diffusion, formation of GPB, L, C, Q’, S’, and θ’ phases both in dislocation lines and dislocation-free regions that improve mechanical properties.
