<p>Both, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer have improved considerably over recent years. New drug groups such as CDK4/6 inhibitors, which have been approved for the treatment of early and metastatic hormone-sensitive breast cancer, play an important role. In some cases, the treating physicians may consider whether they should re-administer the same or a&#xa0;different CDK4/6 inhibitor following progression after treatment with a&#xa0;CDK4/6 inhibitor in an earlier line of treatment. In this review, the current scientific evidence regarding this issue will be examined.</p>
