Cancer Survivorship – Herausforderungen für Betroffene und für das Versorgungssystem
摘要
The topic of cancer survivorship is becoming increasingly important against the backdrop of immense advances in oncology, increasing survival rates, and an aging population. Currently, there are approximately 4.5 million people in Germany who have had cancer in the past 25 years. Long-term survivors are confronted with a variety of physical, psychological, and social late and long-term effects and have very heterogeneous problems and care needs. In the realignment of the National Cancer Plan, the topic of cancer survivorship is explicitly named as a cross-sectional issue of significance. To date, there is a lack of structured care services for long-term survivors and guidelines that go beyond the current 5‑year period of medical follow-up care. There are currently various funding priorities and model projects in which structured cancer survivorship programs are being developed and evaluated.
