摘要

Sebaceous gland neoplasms are rare, but very aggressive malignant tumors originating in the sebaceous glands of the skin. They are differentiated based on the sebaceous gland cells (sebocytes) and can present on various parts of the body; however, it most frequently presents in the head-and-neck region and represents the most common malignant adnexal neoplasm of the skin [1]. The incidence of sebaceous gland neoplasms has risen significantly in recent years, reaching 0.1–0.23 cases per 100,000 person–years. Due to its specific characteristics with regard to clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment are particularly challenging. The recently published S1 guideline on sebaceous gland neoplasms addresses these aspects [2].
