<p>In this article of the Zeitschrift für Psychodrama und Soziometrie the points of contact between Moreno and Foulkes are described. The connection between group analysis and psychodrama within the context of the development of the democratic-analytic therapeutic communities is explored. The historical origins in England up to the present existing values and standards of the accredited therapeutic communities are described. The role of psychodrama within the context of present-day therapeutic communities within the British prison service are discussed.</p>
