摘要

Europeanisation research has revealed that the proportion of national legislation resulting from European Union (EU) decisions has steadily increased. New data on the transposition of EU law in Germany from 1990 to 2025 confirm that this process initially continued after the Treaty of Lisbon came into force, until the multiple crises of recent years led to a moderate reversal of the trend. The Europeanisation of highly communitised policy areas such as agriculture and the environment stabilised at a high level, while the steepest increases were recorded in economic policy and transport policy. The findings have far-reaching consequences for member state governments and parliaments, as more and more EU legal acts had to be implemented and must be applied, reducing the room for manoeuvre in national politics.
