摘要

In digital labour markets, remote work has become the new normal for many employees. Similarly, in Austria, the context of the present study, remote work has become part of the daily working routine for over 30% of the workforce in the year 2024. With this increased use of digital technologies, however, the way we manage our work is also changing. In this research note, we explore a new form of work organization: the concept of desk sharing. On the basis of 33 guided, problem-centered interviews with employees in Austria, we show in which ways negotiation processes between employees and employers have become individualized and which new conflict potential emerges in this process.
