摘要

Stereotyping and prejudice can lead to discrimination—including in counseling and coaching situations. Complementary independent participation counseling (EUTB®) using peer counseling offers a low-threshold, discrimination-sensitive counseling service to all people with or at risk of disabilities, chronic illnesses, and their relatives. Studies show that people seeking advice benefit from peer counseling. Furthermore, personality developments concerning self-efficacy, self-assurance and self-confidence can also be observed among peer counselors. The article discusses how peer work can contribute to transfer intersectional perspectives and discrimination-sensitive methods to other fields of counseling for additional target groups.
