摘要

The issues of care and social reproduction have drawn increasing attention for some time, and not only in the social sciences. Indeed, they are vital both for a sociological theoretical analysis of capitalist societies and for the debate about their political configuration. In sociological analyses of capitalist societies, however, there is a long tradition of controversy around the question of how to adequately analyse the current form, or mode of economy, work and living in this sense. One dividing line concerns the question of where an analysis and critique can and should begin. The authors are border-crossers between research strands and belong to different generations of researchers. Against this backdrop, here they engage in a conversation to delve into capitalism’s specific forms of domination, discuss distinct approaches to the analysis of capitalism and society and explore different paths to resolving the crises of care and reproduction.
