Geriatrisches Screening und Assessment bei chronischer Nierenkrankheit
摘要
People with chronic kidney disease (CKD) suffer from a multitude of symptoms that increase with age and stage of the disease. In addition to the geriatric assessment, the systematic documentation of the symptoms should be regularly carried out to improve the quality of life and adherence to treatment and to reduce the symptoms. Frequent symptoms include immobility, weakness (frailty/fatigue), sleep disturbance (insomnia), malnutrition, itching (pruritus), pain, depression and anxiety, restless legs syndrome (RLS) and cognitive impairment. While validated questionnaires are often available to assess the symptoms, the treatment measures are predominantly based on the recommendations for people without kidney disease. Drug treatment needs to take the degree of renal impairment and comedication into account. The empathetic attention of the healthcare team is an essential foundation to reduce the burden of symptoms.
