摘要

A new fossil genus and species Palaeoasterolibertia siwalika (Ascomycota, Asterinaceae) is proposed for a fungus with circular thyriothecia and intercalary appressoria associated with a compressed leaf of Neolamarckia pliocadamba (Rubiaceae) from the middle Siwalik sediments (Upper Miocene to Lower Pliocene, ~3.8 to 6 Ma) of Bhutan Himalaya. The morphology of the fossil fungus, particularly the intercalary appressoria, exhibits closest resemblance with modern Asterolibertia nothopegiae colonizing Nothopegia aureofulva (Anacardiaceae).
