<p>Two novel species from Jiangxi Province, Eastern China, <i>Russula bubalinoides</i> and <i>R. patella</i>, are described and illustrated in this study. <i>Russula bubalinoides</i> is morphologically characterized by its striate pileus margin with lamellulae and furcations, a white stipe, and basidiospores ornamented with mostly isolated warts and spines that do not form a complete reticulum. Additionally, it exhibits wide hymenial cystidia (6.5–15&#xa0;µm) showing no reaction in sulfovanillin and is typically found in <i>Fagaceae</i> forests. <i>Russula patella</i> is characterized by a glabrous pileus surface, the absence of lamellulae and furcations, basidiospores featuring an inamyloid suprahilar spot and reticulate surface ornamentation, wide hymenial cystidia (5.5–15.5&#xa0;µm), and pileocystidia consistently bearing mastoid appendages. This species also inhabits <i>Fagaceae</i> forests. Phylogenetic analyses based on the ITS-ncLSU-mtSSU-<i>RPB1</i>-<i>RPB2</i>-<i>EF</i>-<i>α</i> dataset revealed that <i>R. bubalinoides</i> belongs to subsect. <i>Heterophyllae</i>, while <i>R. patella</i> is classified under subsect. <i>Virescentinae</i>.</p>
