摘要

Background

In Germany, six bachelor’s degree programmes at state universities have a focus on health promotion. Despite the existence of curricular frameworks concepts, it has not yet been systematically described which teaching contents form the core of curricula with a focus on health promotion in Germany.

Methods

Based on a programme analysis, the teaching content of current bachelor’s programmes was analysed and the shared core content was extracted.

Results

Seventeen main categories represent the core content of bachelor’s degree programmes in health promotion in Germany. These include, among others, the fundamentals of health and illness, epidemiology and health reporting, the health and social care system, as well as health promotion and prevention. These are supplemented by specialisations in specific fields of action, settings, strategies and methods. However, content identified as essential knowledge in relevant framework concepts is not yet consistently included across all programmes. Furthermore, the curricula differ significantly in terms of their focus and the level of detail chosen for the listed course content.

Conclusion

Further analysis, greater interinstitutional exchange and more flexible curricula to enable a rapid response to current developments are considered key areas for further development.
