Background and objectives <p>In view of rising healthcare costs, workplace health promotion is becoming increasingly important. For the successful implementation of measures in companies, it is important that they are not only effective but also time-saving and easy to use. The use of self-measurement stations in companies offers an innovative approach to promoting health awareness among employees. These body analysis devices enable continuous recording of health values and support for employees through individualized recommendations for action within a&#xa0;mobile app. This study investigates the extent to which weekly screening with a&#xa0;self-measurement station contributes to improving the health status of employees and, thus, provides added value for workplace health promotion.</p> Study design and methods <p>In all, 72&#xa0;healthy men and women took part in the randomized controlled trial. During the 8‑week study period, the intervention group performed weekly self-screenings. The control group did not receive any measurements. The recorded health values included body composition, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV). Questionnaires were also used to analyze mental health and resilience.</p> Results <p>The values of body fat mass and heart rate variability show significantly different changes in the groups over time in the analysis of variance (<i>p</i> = 0.004 and <i>p</i> = 0.027, respectively).</p> Conclusion <p>Weekly self-measurement with a&#xa0;body analyzer improves health by reducing body fat mass and cardiac stress. Based on the results of the study, weekly self-measurement can be considered an effective measure for promoting employee health in the workplace.</p>

Study design and methods
