Erfolgreiche Praxis in der betrieblichen Gesundheitsförderung: Erkenntnisse österreichischer Unternehmen
摘要
Complex initiatives such as workplace health promotion (WHP) must be based on a broad information base to ensure quality. Effective decisions and actions should therefore be based on values/principles and the evidence base and consider relevant contextual factors. The effectiveness of WHP measures is often analysed scientifically, but practical experiences and options of company implementers are rarely considered. This article examines the question of what constitutes successful WHP from a practical perspective.
Materials and methodsThe qualitative study explored the experiences of 73 Austrian enterprises that received the WHP award between 2017 and 2023. The basis for this was a structured content analysis of a series of brochures describing the WHP of these organisations as well as their quality seal applications. To increase the practical relevance, guided interviews were also conducted with six company representatives and three WHP consultants.
ResultsExperience values emphasise the importance of ensuring the sustainable anchoring of WHP, visibility and communication, a differentiated and participatory approach, a mix of measures consisting of environment and individual-directed measures, the necessity of contemporary WHP and the need to follow a path adapted to the respective organisational context.
ConclusionEnterprises name numerous success factors and a broad mix of content-related and methodological aspects for WHP success. Overall, empirical values dominate over scientific knowledge in implementation practice. The organisations take the quality dimensions into account, but not always fully, and often choose pragmatic approaches. The need for an individual and authentic approach is also emphasised, as is the flexible and customised adaptation of standards to the operational situation. This also means that practice-based WHP must move with the times, take up the current social transformation and derive contemporary methods.
