摘要

Background

The aim of this study is to develop personalised training plans using a screening procedure based on the European Fitness Badge (EFB). The EFB is a test developed by seven European associations to assess physical performance [3].

Methods

The trainee should be guided individually, based on training methods and performance data. The self-developed screening method Fitness & Health Check Up aims to determine the current physical condition of a person and to serve as a basis for personalised training guidance. Physical performance is measured according to the sports science criteria of endurance, strength, speed, mobility, and coordination. An osteopath takes the patient’s osteopathic history. The effects of the personalised whole-body training on physical performance are statistically proven in a longitudinal study. After a 12-weeks training period, measurable changes are observed.

Results and conclusion

The research results clearly show that personalised sports therapy/training plans have a positive effect on the general health level over a period of 3 months. The Fitness & Health Check Up provides information which is not available in any other screening procedure, such as body composition. Using the Check Up, the osteopath is supported in the realisation of the physical exercise and the personal trainer can create a personalised training plan according to the developed instructions. After a 12-week training period, measurable changes are observed. The experts involved confirm the applicability of both the EFB and the Fitness & Health Check Up in a health centre. In future studies, tests with a larger cohort can support the verified hypotheses with a broader data base.
