<p>This case study explored the potential effects of integrating an e-book app on the reading motivation and comprehension of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) children with low reading proficiency. Over a period of four months, two fourth-grade students participated in the intervention, using the Epic! app for e-book reading twice a week. Data were collected through reading logs, observations, teachers’ field notes, and semi-structured interviews conducted before and after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed to identify changes in participants' reading motivation and proficiency over time. Findings suggested that the use of e-books positively influenced both participants' reading motivation and proficiency. Participants reported enjoying the app’s interactive features and showed an increased willingness to engage with more challenging texts. The results indicated that incorporating e-book technologies like Epic! was effective in enhancing reading motivation and proficiency among young EFL learners, offering valuable insights for educators and parents seeking to incorporate educational technologies to support young learners' literacy development.</p>
