<p>This paper proposed a spoof surface plasmon polariton (SSPP) based on asymmetrical coplanar waveguide (ACPW). New insight into the proposed ACPW SSPP based on equivalent circuit is presented to consider both dispersion and characteristic impedance. After that, we developed a new analytic design method with three criteria. Finally, we designed a compact ACPW-SSPP transmission line to illustrate the design strategy. The measured and simulated results agree well, and it is validated that the ACPW-SSPP exhibits ultra compact size and has potential applications in miniaturized SSPP systems.</p>
