<p>During the underwater archaeological survey conducted as part of the Shipwreck Inventory Project of Türkiye (SHIPT) Project, two shipwreck sites were identified off the western coast of Türkiye in 2018. High-resolution documentation, selective artifact recovery, and subsequent archival research suggest that these remains are associated with ships sunk during the engagements between Ottoman and Venetian forces near the Oinousses islands (Koyun Adaları in Turkish) in 1695. By integrating archaeological observations with contextual and documentary sources, this study provides the first concrete evidence on this little-known naval battle, offering new insights into 17th-century naval technology, operational practices, and maritime conflict in the eastern Aegean. Accordingly, the sites hold considerable archaeological value as they preserve the only surviving remains of 17th-century warships within Turkish territorial waters. Their offshore location constitutes a rare and largely undisturbed underwater cultural landscape, preserving the material traces of the battle. Therefore, these vulnerable cultural heritage sites require long-term protection.</p>
