Reiseimpfungen für Menschen mit Diabetes
摘要
In general, the same recommendations for travel vaccinations apply to people with diabetes or chronic kidney disease without pronounced immunodeficiency as to people without underlying conditions. However, due to increased risks, they should have their vaccination status checked before each trip in order to close any vaccination gaps if possible. This article provides an overview of the current recommendations from the STIKO (“Ständige Impfkommission am Robert Koch-Institut”) and DTG (“Deutsche Gesellschaft für Tropenmedizin, Reisemedizin und Globale Gesundheit e. V.”), discusses vaccination strategies depending on travel destination, underlying disease, and exposure risk, and emphasizes the importance of standard and indication-based vaccinations, for example, against influenza, pneumococci, hepatitis A/B, SARS-CoV‑2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2), and polio. Important vaccine-preventable diseases without general STIKO recommendations are briefly addressed, as well as rapid vaccination schedules and special considerations for immunosuppressed patients or those with chronic kidney disease.
