Adhärenz bei Diabetes – Bindeglied zwischen wissenschaftlicher Evidenz und individuellem Wohlbefinden
摘要
Over the past decade, impressive pharmacological and technological advances have been made in the treatment of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Nevertheless, adherence to the new therapies remains key to therapeutic success and a good long-term quality of life for those affected. This review first discusses important determinants of adherence, and outlines the extent and consequences of nonadherence. The second part focuses on concepts and practical suggestions for how diabetologists and their teams can support people with diabetes in approaching new therapies with realistic expectations, adhering to them and dealing constructively with setbacks. An authentic and appreciative communication style is just as important as a holistic view of each person with diabetes in their individual living environment.
