Truly multitalented: what makes a (successful) female hybrid entrepreneur?
摘要
In this paper, we examine the role of socio-economic factors in shaping the entrepreneurial behavior of female hybrid entrepreneurs. Female entrepreneurs who also hold a salary job are an interesting economic group whose behavior has been understudied in the existing economic literature. Using a sample of 1542 Polish women and employing both artificial neural networks and traditional logistic regression, we found support for the role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy in both the decision to start a business and entrepreneurial success. Our results also provide limited support for Edward Lazear’s theory of self-selection into entrepreneurship.
