<p>Migration has been regarded as a global phenomenon, where Rohingya migration in Bangladesh has posed a significant challenge to the environment. The study explored the impact of Land Use Land Cover (LULC) change after the arrival of Rohingya on the elephant route in Cox's Bazar district, Bangladesh. The study analyzed the satellite image to find out the LULC change after the influx of Rohingya, and the data regarding the impact of LULC on the elephant route have been collected from published documents like articles, newspapers, and reports. The images have been collected from two times after and before the arrival of the Rohingya (2016 and 2021). ArcGIS (version 10.8), Erdas Imagine (version 2014), and QGIS (version 3.16.16) have been used to figure out the LULC change. The study has found that the sudden arrival of Rohingya in the forest and hilly areas of Ukhiya, Teknaf in Cox's Bazar district of Bangladesh adversely affected the land use pattern of the southeast part of Bangladesh that is near the border to north-west Myanmar. Most of the forest land, bare land, and water body transformed into Rohingya house structure buildings, road networks, sanitation, and markets by Rohingya. The study has found that forest cutting is higher in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazila due to most of the Rohingya camps being located in Cox's Bazar district. In 2016, forest coverage was 9569.10 hectares; in 2021, it reached 7106.72 hectares in Palong Khali Union under Ukhiya Upazila. The settlement comprised 1354.40 hectares in 2016 and 3291.91 hectares in 2021 in Palong Khali Union in Ukhiya. In Teknaf municipality, the forest cover was 363.64 hectares in 2016 and it has been 269.3 hectares in 2021. The settlement was 151 hectares in 2016 but increased to 208.14 hectares in 2021 in Teknaf municipality. Furthermore, the study found that wild Asian elephants are endangered in Cox's Bazar district due to Rohingya obliterating their route by building up unplanned settlements through deforestation. Hence, the elephant-human conflict accelerated due to the food sources and destination in forest land in Cox's Bazar district. Thus, Rohingya deaths and injuries are increasing day by day, and more than 200 Rohingya deaths are estimated in this study. The study suggests repatriation of Rohingya to save the natural land covers and human lives.</p>
