<p>One of the complications of knee joint replacement is the loss of a person's performance; as a result, it significantly impacts how a person plays a role in society, personal life, job status, and quality of life. A therapeutic exercise program should include strength training, balance, walking and movement coordination to improve the physical condition of these people. This randomized controlled trial study investigated the effect of eight weeks of hydrotherapy exercises and massage on dynamic and static balance and quality of life of people with a history of knee joint replacement. Thirty participants aged 40 to 65 years who had undergone knee joint surgery were selected in a purposeful and accessible manner, and they were randomly divided into three groups (<i>n</i> = 10): hydrotherapy, massage and control. The subjects of the training groups performed hydrotherapy exercises and massage for eight weeks (two sessions per week), and the subjects of the control group continued their everyday life during this period. Before and after the training period, timed up-and-go test, the one-leg standing test and the 40-m fast-paced walk test were used to evaluate balance, fall risk, and walking speed. Also, WOMAC questionnaire used for asses quality of life. The research showed that eight weeks of hydrotherapy exercises and massage significantly affect walking speed, dynamic and static balance, and quality of life in men with a history of knee joint replacement (<i>P</i> &lt; 0.001, <i>P</i> = 0.002, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.003, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.001). Post hoc test results showed a significant difference between the hydrotherapy and the massage group with the control group (timed up-and-go test: <i>F</i> = 11.57, <i>P</i> &lt; 0.001, one-leg standing test: <i>F</i> = 6.95, <i>P</i> = 0.004, the 40-m fast-paced walk test: <i>F</i> = 3.60, <i>P</i> = 0.04 and quality of life: <i>F</i> = 6.82, <i>P</i> = 0.004). Still, there is no significant difference between the two experimental groups. In general, the research results showed that hydrotherapy exercises and massage significantly affect dynamic and static balance, and quality of life in men with a history of knee joint replacement, and these two therapy methods can be used to improve the conditions of these people. To draw more accurate conclusions, further studies with more participants and a longer intervention period are needed.</p>
