Purpose

The aim of this study was to assess the test–retest reliability of \({\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{2}}\) V ˙ O 2 kinetics in apparently healthy men and women during a 6-min step test (6MST).

Methods

Conclusion

The analysis of \({\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{2}}\) V ˙ O 2 kinetics during the 6MST demonstrates moderate (0.41–0.60) to excellent (0.81–1.00) reliability indices in men and substantial (0.61–0.80) to excellent (0.81–1.00) reliability in women. In contrast, the analysis of \({\dot{\text{V}}\text{O}}_{{2}}\) V ˙ O 2 off-kinetics reveals substantial (0.61–0.80) to excellent (0.81–1.00) reliability in men and moderate (0.41–0.60) to excellent (0.81–1.00) in women, according to ICC classification.
