A Compact Flexible Wide Band-Notched UWB MIMO Antenna with Very High Decoupling Characteristics for WLAN Applications

In this article, a compact dual-band, two-element MIMO antenna is presented. The antenna is designed with jute substrate. Dielectric properties of jute material are measured and fully utilized to design the antenna. The antenna covers the frequency range of 2.15–2.87 and 5.13–5.86 GHz which satisfies full WLAN band (2.4–2.485 GHz and 5.15–5.85 GHz) applications. Feed line and ground plane modifications are done to achieve the wide notched band from the ultra-wideband spectrum. To enhance better port isolation 25 dB at low-frequency band and 37 dB at upper band, a “∆”-shaped isolator is used. The antenna offers good MIMO performances like ECC (0.04), CCL (< 0.19 bits/s/Hz), DG (about 10 dB), TARC (satisfy the required impedance bandwidth considering different angles of excitations) etc. Gain, Radiation patterns, etc. are also investigated and found very suitable.
