Outage analysis of a two users NOMA with partial selection of an energy harvesting relay

This paper analyzes a two-user cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access network for signal transmission between two users and two destinations through a partial selection of energy harvesting relays. A particular relay out of N relays is selected based on maximum energy harvested from the RF signals of two sources following TSR and PSR schemes of SWIPT. We analytically derive outage probability of each source-destination pair and overall system outage considering perfect successive interference cancellation (SIC) and perfect channel state information. Impact of relay selection, energy harvesting parameters, power for signal transmission between two users and two destinations indicated. MATLAB based simulation validates our analytical formulation. Impacts of imperfection in SIC and non-linearity in energy harvesting on outage are also shown.
