Comment on “Exploring Interfacial Property and Interaction Mechanism of Chromium onto Chitosan‑Derived Carbon Dots Modified Hierarchical Co‑Zn‑Al Layered Double Oxides from Industrial Wastewater” by Jin and Zong [Water, Air, & Soil Pollution (2025) 236: 778]
摘要
This communication critically evaluates modeling deficiencies in the article identified in the title. Specifically, it addresses the use of an incorrect formulation of the Weber–Morris intraparticle diffusion model for kinetic analysis, as well as flawed or misapplied versions of four equilibrium isotherm models: Temkin, Harkins–Jura, Frenkel–Halsey–Hill, and Dubinin–Radushkevich. These issues affect parameter estimation, mechanistic interpretation, and the validity of conclusions drawn from model comparisons. A thorough reassessment of the kinetic and equilibrium analyses using correctly formulated models is therefore warranted.
