A Thematic Examination of System Dynamics in River Science Research and an Agenda for Future Investigations
摘要
Understanding the dynamics of the river is essential and requires thorough investigation. This review aims to provide a bibliometric analysis of research on the system dynamics (SD) approach in river science. Using VOSviewer’s bibliometric analysis tool, 605 papers listed in the Scopus database were examined. The significant findings of this study are as follows: (1) There are two general categories of topics, including water resources management and climate change; (2) China and the United States experienced significant growth in citation frequency and volume over the past few years; and (3) Science of the Total Environment and Water Resources Management are two of the most influential journals. Overall, research on SD in river science is a well-developed and promising field. In other words, the study of SD in river science is an exciting field. This study provides new researchers with a framework for SD in river science and helps scientists identify potential perspectives on collaboration partners, research frontiers, hot spots, and research trends.
