<p>Social mobility programs that put low-income students of Color from urban environments in high-achieving, predominantly white institutions aim to offer educational opportunity; however, they may not always recognize the resources that youth and their families bring to these programs and their schools. Drawing upon data from 37 interviews with program participants, we find that youth and their families utilize familial capital to gain information and resources. This assisted in providing access to the program, transitioning, and succeeding in it. Results of this study provide a more in-depth understanding of how youth make use of familial capital to pursue social mobility.</p>
