Introduction <p>Prostate cancer is prevalent among men, and Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) remains a cornerstone in managing advanced stages of this disease. However, ADT has been associated with cardiovascular side effects, raising concerns, especially in populations with a high baseline risk for cardiovascular diseases. This study aims to investigate the impact of ADT on cardiac function over a short-term follow-up in prostate cancer patients from Southeast Asia.</p> Material and method <p>This prospective observational study was conducted from December 2022 to March 2025. Seventy prostate cancer patients who required ADT were recruited and we analysed the outcomes of the whole cohort as well as the comparisons between the Degarelix group, and the Non-Degarelix group. Echocardiographic, ECG and blood investigations were conducted pre-treatment (M1) and at three months post-therapy (M2). Statistical analysis, including paired t-tests and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests, was applied to determine significant changes, with <i>p </i>&lt; 0.05 considered statistically significant.</p> Results <p>The echocardiographic analysis demonstrated a statistically significant reduction in LVEF% (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001), GLS% (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) and a significant elevation of Hs Trop-I (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) and NT Pro-BNP (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) were noted at M2. Additionally, significant ECG findings included QRS&#xa0;prolongation&#xa0;(<i>p</i> = 0.027) observed in&#xa0;the&#xa0;overall cohort and QTc prolongation (<i>p</i> = 0.006) noted in both the Non-Degarelix group and the overall cohort. The lipid profile analysis revealed elevated total cholesterol, triglycerides and HDL.</p> Conclusion <p>ADT appears to have a negative impact on Cardiovascular health. However, patients who received Degarelix seem to have less pronounced effects on cardiovascular parameters compared to the group who received Non-Degarelix treatments.</p>
