Objective <p>Chronic kidney disease in children is increasingly prevalent worldwide and significantly impacts quality of life. Nutritional management is one of the key components in the comprehensive treatment of chronic kidney disease in children; however, the relevant contents are scattered. This study summarizes the best evidence on nutritional management of chronic kidney disease in children, to provide high-quality evidence-based references for clinical practice.</p> Methods <p>By following the “6S” pyramid model, top–down searches were conducted in computerized decision support systems, international guideline websites, websites of chronic kidney disease professional associations, and various databases. The timeframe for the search was from the inception of the databases to September 2024. The quality evaluation, extraction, and synthesis of the evidence were conducted independently by 2 researchers.</p> Results <p>A total of 26 articles were included, including 8 guidelines, 1 expert consensus, 5 clinical decisions, 11 recommendation for clinical practice, and 1 systematic review. Thirty-five pieces of best evidence were synthesized into 6 categories, including nutrition management team, nutrition screening and assessment, nutrition diagnosis, nutrition goals, nutrition support, nutrition monitoring, and follow-up.</p> Conclusion <p>The best evidence for nutritional management of chronic kidney disease in children in this study is clinically practical, can provide evidence-based support for medical staff to implement nutritional management measures and improve clinical outcomes in children with chronic kidney disease.</p>

Objective

Chronic kidney disease in children is increasingly prevalent worldwide and significantly impacts quality of life. Nutritional management is one of the key components in the comprehensive treatment of chronic kidney disease in children; however, the relevant contents are scattered.
