摘要

One of the candidate genes for variation in animal growth rates is the POU1F1 gene. This research aimed to identify the genetic variations of several local chickens in Indonesia. Research on the POU1F1 gene was conducted in 10 local chicken breeds. Polymorphism was screened in 301 samples of local chicken using the PCR-RFLP method. Analysis of POU1F1 showed that one variation was detected, described as g. 9432T > C in all local chickens. A total of 442 bp of POU1F1 was concatenated in 3 genotypes (CC, CT, and TT) in this study. The analysis of the association of the body weight with the SNP POU1F1 gene in local chickens, but in Sentul puncak chickens, the genotypes of the POU1F1 gene were significantly associated with body weight at 10 weeks. However, there was no significant association with other local chickens. The POU1F1 gene polymorphism in ten breeds of local chickens in this research would be favorable for further uncovering the role of the POU1F1 gene in future research.
