<p>This study was conducted to investigate the impact of dichromatic lights during incubation on embryonic growth, hatching and post-hatch welfare performance in commercial layers. For that purpose, 500 eggs of Bovans White (week 43) were acquired and subjected to Dark (D), Green-Red (GR), Green-Blue (GB) and Blue-Red (BR) lighting during incubation (12&#xa0;h daily; intensity 250&#xa0;lx). Results indicated that different lighting treatments have no impact on embryonic growth (<i>p</i><i> ≥ 0.05</i>), while the spread of hatch (hatch window) was significantly (<i>p</i><i> ≤ 0.05</i>) decreased by GR and GB lightings. No difference in hatchability and embryonic mortality percentage was found in response to in-ovo lighting (<i>p</i><i> ≥ 0.05</i>). However, growth performance (i.e., body weight, feed intake and feed conversion ratio) parameters were significantly (<i>p</i><i> ≤ 0.05</i>) improved in chicks from GB lighting during incubation. In welfare parameters, tonic immobility and no. of vocalizations were significantly (<i>p</i><i> ≤ 0.05</i>) better in GR lighting, while physical asymmetry, feather and gait scores were not influenced by any treatment. These results indicated that light during incubation did not affect embryonic growth and hatching performance in layers. However, hatching time and stress level can be decreased by providing GR lighting during incubation.</p>
