Static and Dynamic Behaviors of Clay Solidified with Cement, Lime, and Fly Ash

In this study a series of consolidated–undrained triaxial tests and scanning electron microscopy tests were performed to systematically investigate the effects of several critical factors, such as the ratio of fly ash and lime to cement, the curing ratio, the water content, and the confining pressure, on the mechanical properties and microstructure of conventional and stabilized clay. The experimental results showed that the mechanical properties of stabilized clay were significantly improved. Additionally, empirical formulas for the static strength, maximum dynamic elasticity modulus, and minimum damping ratio were established using the key factors to elucidate the interrelationships and the weights of their influences on the mechanical parameters.
