Modeling Pore Pressure Changes in the “CPTU Probe–Soil” System During Dissipation Testing

The author analyzes pore pressure changes in the dissipation mode of piezocone penetration testing (CPTU). A phenomenological equation for pore pressure dissipation in dilative soils is proposed. Conditions for the formation of various types of probe–soil interactions are studied. A classification of theoretically possible dissipation curves is proposed.
