Assessing the Possibility of Driving Piles in Plastic-Frozen Soils Based on the Data of Thermal Cone Penetration Tests
摘要
The paper analyzes the possibility of predicting the set per blow for piles in plastic-frozen soils based on the data of a thermal cone penetration test (T-CPT). Field studies of the reaming effect were conducted; the influence of penetration depth, soil temperature, distance of the friction sleeve from the cone, and soil resistance to penetration were investigated. A modified version of formula by N. M. Gersevanov is proposed to evaluate the residual set per blow based on T-CPT data, taking into account the characteristics of the hammer and pile. As a result, a method for assessing the possibility of driving piles in plastic-frozen soils to the project reference according to T-CPT data is proposed.
