<p>The measured capacity of rectangular barrette piles under compression loading is thoroughly investigated using 66 field load tests. These load tests were categorized into drained and undrained soils based on the prevalent soil type along the shaft length. Nine interpretation methods were employed to analyze the measured capacity from the load-displacement curves. Each method was evaluated by normalizing the capacities with a measured reference value from the L<sub>2</sub> method, and the results were compared with various pile types from previous studies. The study revealed similar trends of interpretation methods for both soil conditions, with mean normalized capacities ranging from 0.44 to 1.44, and displacements ranging from 7 to &gt;77 mm. On the basis of this comparison, barrette piles on general soils are located at the cutoff point between circular piles on general soils and hard soils, and close to drilled shafts on gravels for drained soils. Specific design recommendations for the application of interpretation criteria for barrette pile design were provided.</p>
