Adsorption properties of active carbon from macadamia nut shells
摘要
Samples of active carbon from macadamia nut shells were prepared. Their textural characteristics, adsorption capacity, and kinetics of adsorption from an aqueous solution of typical herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid were studied. The main steps of renewable raw materials treatment were characterized by physicochemical methods. The carbonization temperature makes it possible to control the adsorption and structural parameters of the adsorbent. The carbon samples carbonized under mild conditions at 400 °C are distinguished by a high specific surface area but a low sorption rate of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.
