<p>Thermal polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of (co)polyarylene diphthalides (initiators) was used to synthesize copolymers, whose macromolecules contained methyl methacrylate and polyarylene diphthalide blocks with different ratios of diphenylene oxide and diphenylene sulfide fragments in the main chain. The structure of the synthesized arylene diphthalide—methyl methacrylate copolymers was studied using IR and UV spectroscopy. The effect of the composition on the morphology of the copolymer films and their thermal and strength characteristics were studied.</p>
