摘要

A convenient one-stage approach for the controlled formation of iron oxohydroxide or oxide nanoparticles is proposed. It is determined that synthesis in the presence of an alginate—polystyrene sulfonate polymer blend leads to the formation of iron oxohydroxide (akaganeite), while synthesis in the presence of an alginate—polyvinyl alcohol polymer blend results in the formation of iron oxide (maghemite). STEM, XRD, Mössbauer spectroscopy, and Fourier transform IR spectroscopy were used to characterize the obtained compounds.
