Relativistic Gyrotron with Coupled Mode-Transforming Cavities, Working at the Third Cyclotron Harmonic
摘要
We present the results of calculating and studying experimentally a gyrotron working at the third harmonic of the cyclotron frequency. It used an electron-optical system that generated an electron beam with a particle energy of 280 keV and a current of up to 50 A. Coupled cavities with mode transformation were used as a selective element. The pulsed output power of the gyrotron radiation reached 0.8 MW at a frequency of 80 GHz with an efficiency of about 14%. The generation power was limited by a microwave breakdown in the first section of the cavity.
