<p>Banks, Conflitti and Shparlinski gave upper bounds for exponential sums over integers with restricted digits. In this paper, we improve their results by using linear combinations of shifts of rational functions and polynomials. Moreover, we give bounds for Weyl sums over integers with restricted digits. The latter is accomplished by applying a method due to Shparlinski and Thuswaldner.</p>

Banks, Conflitti and Shparlinski gave upper bounds for exponential sums over integers with restricted digits. In this paper, we improve their results by using linear combinations of shifts of rational functions and polynomials. Moreover, we give bounds for Weyl sums over integers with restricted digits.
