<p>This study presents a bibliometric and science-mapping analysis of global research on blue-emitting iridium(III) complexes, aiming to evaluate the intellectual structure and developmental trajectory of this research field. Bibliographic data were retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 2005–2025, yielding 898 documents across 199 sources. Bibliometric performance indicators and science-mapping techniques were applied to analyse publication trends, citation dynamics, collaboration patterns, and thematic evolution within the field. The analysis was conducted using visualisation approaches, including co-authorship networks, Sankey diagrams, citation networks, and Bradford’s law distribution. The results reveal a mature yet evolving research domain characterised by strong citation performance, with an average of 39.23 citations per document, although the annual publication rate shows a slight decline of 2.32%. Global research output is dominated by East Asian countries, particularly China, South Korea, and Japan, with significant contributions from the United States and Germany. Thematic evolution analysis indicates a shift from early studies centred on semiconducting organic materials and electroluminescence toward more recent research emphasising carbene ligands, chelation strategies, and advanced photonic applications. International co-authorship remains moderate at 19.6%, suggesting considerable potential for broader global collaboration. Overall, the findings provide insights into the knowledge structure and research evolution of blue-emitting iridium complex studies, highlighting emerging themes and collaboration patterns that may inform future research strategies and interdisciplinary developments in optoelectronic materials.</p>
