<p>Blockchain technology is emerging as a transformative tool in the education sector to improve education quality by ensuring secure data management and equitable access to educational resources. Blockchain technology has gained increasing attention in the education sector due to its potential to enhance education quality by improving data security, transparency, and academic credential verification. The main purpose of this study is to examine the importance of predictors and their inter-dependencies among the factors in their impact from the managements’ perspectives towards the intention of blockchain adoption in institutes of higher learning. This study utilized the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) technique to analyze the data. A total of 15 experts in the field of information technology and technology adoption in one of the higher education institutions in Malaysia were invited to attempt the off-line questionnaire survey. Based on the data collected, the findings reveal that perceived threat severity, cost of implementation, and regulatory support are the most important factors respectively in technology, organization and environment dimensions. The DEMATEL results further demonstrate the causal interdependencies among the factors, showing that perceived threat severity influences organizational considerations such as cost of implementation, which subsequently shapes the intention to adopt blockchain technology. For the main dimensions, technology is shown as an important factor for blockchain technology adoption. The findings contribute to a better understanding of blockchain adoption in higher education. Additionally, by considering both internal and external factors comprehensively, decision-makers can gain deeper insights, enabling the development of more targeted and effective strategies.</p>
