<p>This study investigates the role of social capital in the resilience and recovery of informal businesses following the COVID-19 pandemic. Using an inductive approach, data were collected from 324 informal business respondents in Dargai Bazaar, District Malakand, Pakistan, through stratified random sampling and proportional allocation. Semi-structured interviews and economic survey forms were employed, with descriptive analysis used for interpretation. Findings reveal minimal support from formal institutions—government, banks, and NGOs—while social capital, including financial help from family, friends, and community (e.g., zakat and gifts), played a critical role in business recovery.</p>
